Today on the blog is Cindy Deeg from The Heart of the Matter. Cindy helps busy mommas how to consciously record their children’s memories, regularly and then consolidate, organized and backed them up into one location.
I love stories. What’s your story?
When my oldest daughter was graduating from high school I was struck with the realization of how quickly time had flown. I had this tremendous need to document her 18 years at home. I began searching through all my photos, scanning many of them, and put together several video slideshows with music that was meaningful to us along the way. It was a long hard work! That sparked my passion for photography and finally the reality that most busy moms now days have thousands of photos but never access them. They are scattered among phones, computers and memory cards. No organization and worst of all, usually nothing is backed up. I realized I could help make a real difference in mom’s lives.
Tell me about your business?
I help busy mamas take control of that digital photo mess. Learn how to systematically consolidate, organize and backup their treasured memories. That way they will be available for generations to come.
Why did you become an entrepreneur?
I love photography and preserving memories, but also working from home and behind a computer. It’s the perfect marriage of everything I love.
Who is your ideal client?
Busy mamas with over 10,000 photos on their phones. They are overwhelmed and don’t know what to do about the lack of organization and the need to back up their photos.
As an entrepreneur, we face a lot of challenges, what has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge has been being alone and not having someone to bounce ideas from.
What has been your biggest accomplishment in your business?
I’m building a course on how to organize and keep all those photo memories. It should be ready to be released in the middle of next year.
What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself as an entrepreneur?
I make much more progress when I stick to a strict schedule and honor my time commitments to myself.
What advice would you give someone who just started or wants to become an entrepreneur?
Keep moving forward! Even if it’s just small steps.
Share one fun fact about yourself?
You can find me any Sunday with my family watching football, sometimes NASCAR and drinking Bud Light.
What’s your favorite quote?
The best things in life are the people you love, the places you’ve seen, and the memories you’ve made along the way…
