It was just another ordinary day. It’s Tuesday afternoon and my daughter, Vanessa, and I are gathering her stuff for violin lessons. I asked my son, Jeremy if he wanted to go with us and maybe let me do a little mini session of him while Vanessa was in class. Asking my son to let me photograph him is like asking him to do his chores. To my surprise he was willing and even brought an extra shirt and pair of shoes with him. I scored big time!
While Vanessa was making beautiful music at the University of Oregon, Jeremy and I took advantage of the beautiful surroundings U of O has to offer. The sun was out which is a bonus for this time of year. Somewhat cold and while I was all bundled up, Jeremy was happy wearing a t-shirt and shorts…..but that is my boy. It could be snowing outside and he would still be wearing a t-shirt and shorts.
I treasure moments like this. Moments when I can capture the essence of who my children are. Moments that I can document for my children and for future generations to be blessed by.
I guess this is not an ordinary day after all. This is a day that I will cherish forever. A day I got to hang out with my son and created a gift not only for him and I but for future generations.
