Today on the blog, I’m thrilled to welcome my friend, Monika Anderson, as a guest writer!
I first met Monika about two years ago at the Denver Polka Dots chapter. Since then, we’ve shared many conversations and ideas as part of a mastermind group. Over time, I’ve had the privilege of watching her pivot her business and grow into her true calling. Her journey as an entrepreneur is nothing short of inspiring, and I know you’ll love hearing her insights.
Monika’s story reminds us that building a business isn’t just about reaching a destination—it’s about embracing the journey and the growth that comes with it.
I invite you to dive into her thoughtful blog post, “Building a Business is About the Journey,” to learn from her experiences and be encouraged in your own entrepreneurial path.
When I started my business, Kameleon Digital Marketing 8 ½ years ago, it was all about social media management. That’s where I thought I was happy and content. Little did I know that this humble beginning would evolve into a full-blown web design, marketing strategy, and branding powerhouse. And let me tell you—it’s been a wild, incredible ride.
The pandemic in 2020 was a wake-up call for so many businesses. Suddenly, “good enough” websites weren’t cutting it anymore. My clients needed better websites – more functionality, elevated visuals, and a deeper understanding of where their businesses were heading. So, I pivoted. Helping them reimagine their online presence meant I had to level up, too, diving into branding, messaging, and strategic direction.
The truth is, when you’re building a business, the only constant is change. Your path will shift. Your vision will expand. And, spoiler alert: that’s the point. It’s not about nailing down some perfect, final version of your business—it’s about embracing the twists and turns, learning as you go, and showing up for the people you serve.
My newest service offering is the Brand Archetype Advantage, my twist on Jung’s 12 Archetypes theory bringing psychological advantage of knowing who you really are. It’s laser-focused on your values, your competitive advantage, and why your ideal clients will love working with you. Starting a business is a lot like designing a brand—it’s never a straight line, but it’s always worth the effort. Every challenge teaches you something new, and every win reminds you why you started. It’s not just about reaching the destination; it’s about soaking in the journey and evolving with every step.
So, here’s my advice: don’t fear the pivots. Lean into the unexpected. Your business—and you—are meant to grow and transform. Enjoy the process because that’s where the magic happens.
Trust me, the journey is where the good stuff lives.
