I took a short trip with my husband, Curt, before the pandemic happened. It was just an overwhelming night trip but any opportunity I get to travel, I take it. Curt had a business conference and while he was at the conference, I grabbed my bag and camera and headed to Pike Place Market for the day. This place holds a very special place in my heart. I have fond memories of this place from my military years and dating my husband back in the day.
I can spend the entire day in this little nook of the world. Pike Place Market has so much to offer. There are plenty of restaurants, fresh produce stalls, flowers shops, fish markets, bakeries and so much more. One of my favorite places to visit besides all the fresh flowers shops (I’m a sucker for fresh flowers) is Left Bank Books shop. And while you may think I like this place for the books, I actually like this place for the eccentric postcards. When Curt and I were dating he would always mail me postcards from this place and later I started mailing him postcards as well. Now, many years later we still keep the tradition. Any time we visit Pike Place Market we always find a way to sneak away from each other and make our way to the bookstore and mail each other a postcard. I always look forward to receiving my postcard a few days after our trip. This trip was no exception. While I had all day hanging out at Pike Place Market, Curt managed to make some time to stop at Left Bank Book shop before picking me up.
