Today I want to talk to you about how to create the ultimate client experience. As photographers, we have felt many times that our field is overly saturated. I always joke that every time I go to a networking event there is at least five photographer. So how do we set ourselves apart? Because let’s be honest, there is always going to be someone that is a better photographer than you. There is always going to be someone that edits better than you. And if people are price shopping, there is always going to be someone cheaper than you. The thing that is going to set you apart from your competition is YOU and the unique client experience you offer your clients.
It all starts with your brand. Why you do what you do. What your mission statement is. Who do you serve and what kind of service you provide. Your brand is not just about a product or service but it’s also about how you make people feel and what they say about you!
Your website is probably the first place a prospect clients are going to visit. Make sure that your website displays a clear message of what your business is all about and who you serve. According to research, it takes about 50 milliseconds for someone that visit your website to form an opinion of your website. The first impression can determine whether someone will stay and click on the contact button or leave your website.
How you communicate and the speed you communicate matters. You need an intentional approach for engaging with a prospect client. Let your clients know what to expect from you and what the process looks like. It’s important that you know your client and ask the right questions. Be a good listener and set expectations from the beginning.
Provide a step by step on how to prepare for their photo session. I like to provide my clients with a PDF magazine that includes all they need to know about their photo session. How to prepare before their photo session. Choosing the right location for their session. What to ware. A list of props. What to expect during the photo session and after the photo session.
I have to say that one of my favorite things when I added selling product to my business was the packaging. I can go a little crazy with it and I make no apologies. There is something special about delivering a product in a beautiful package that represent my brand. I also like to add a little personalized gift as a thank you.
Customer relationships are the backbone of a successful business. They are your biggest assets How you treat your clients and how you make them feel builds trust and loyalty. So make sure you take care of them. Follow up and ask for feedback. Don’t be afraid to ask how can you improve the client experience and be open minded. We should alway be looking for ways to grow.
