Today on the blog we are featuring this blue eye lady, Regina. Regina is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, based in Denver, Colorado, who uses a functional medicine approach to address your health concerns.
I’m a registered dietitian nutritionist and a mom of two boys with food allergies. I thought I went into practice as an RDN to help others with food allergies, but I didn’t know the Universe had bigger plans for me. I’m a cancer survivor helping others overcome their own diagnosis to live a bigger, fuller life. One of my favorite quotes is, “life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
I own a nutrition practice where I teach my clients how to eat to increase health and well-being through food and lifestyle. My clients come to me to improve heart health, symptoms of diabetes, help with rare autoimmune problems, cancer, and many for digestive issues.
I saw a need for nutrition and lifestyle care that would increase one’s ability to live now and heal going forward. People don’t know what’s wrong with our food system and what we’re eating. And how it contributes to either health or disease. Health is your biggest asset and we should all take great care of our health.
My ideal client is smart and loving; a person who deeply cares for and takes care of others. But she struggles with being seen and heard, with trusting herself and that she has the answers to better her life. As a result she suffers from health issues that keeps her from enjoying her life fully and may be the cause of cancer, autoimmune, or other digestive problems (like IBS, Crohn’s, or colitis).
My biggest challenge is that we live in an era where we believe insurance should take care of all our health costs. But the system is overburdened with lifestyle-related diseases that drain the system. As consumers, we are left footing huge health care costs that don’t cover much and leave us dissatisfied with the lack of care we get from medical providers. I operate differently, spending ample time with my clients teaching and guiding them on the road to health. That comes at a cost, but as the adage goes, you truly get what you pay for.
Seeing my clients recover. I’ve helped numerous individuals regain their health and when I see that transformation I get equally excited for my clients as they are for themselves. Sometimes more! It’s even brought tears to my eyes once or twice, resulting in big hugs. It brings me great joy to see people living healthy and happy, enjoying their family and friends, living up to their full potential, and spreading joy. I’m also over-the-moon excited about my new podcast that has just come out, bringing hope and inspiration to cancer patients, survivors, and care-takers!
I love what I do! I get up in the morning excited to start my day and serve those who see value in the information I’m putting out into the world. I don’t have everything figured out when it comes to business, but I’m persistent, I’m a life-long learner and I just keep showing up (sometimes imperfectly).
Make sure you love what you’re doing and don’t give up.
My superpower is doing cover songs. I’ll take an existing song and change the words to be funny or ridiculous.
“The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that, whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” ~ Vince Lombardi
