Hector and Arianna’s Guachinango, Jalisco, Wedding

I’m super excited to finally be able to share this beautiful wedding with you. It’s one of my favorite weddings for so many reasons. First, this is my brother Hector and Arianna’s wedding. Their beautiful wedding took place at their ranch in our home town of Guachinango, Jalisco, Mexico.

Half of Arianna’s family is Italian and the other half is Colombian and we are Mexicans. It was beautiful seeing the three cultures come together for this wedding. The language barrier at times made it a little challenging but there is no denying that this was a high energy wedding, love was everywhere and new friendships were being made.

I’m not an exaggeration when I say this wedding was a big production. The ranch is in a remote area on the outskirts of Guahinango, Jalisco. There is no running water and no electricity. To make this wedding happen a team from out of town came a few days early to build the entire ceremony and reception site. And I must say they did a wonderful job.

The catholic wedding had all the catholic traditions and of course, there was Mariachi for the mass and dinner. The local Mexican ballet entertained us during dinner. Dinner far exceeded my expectations. The champagne was flown from Italy. The party favors were traditional clay shot glasses. They had two live bands for the reception a combination of Columbian and Mexican music. And because we like to go big and only in Mexico, we had a Friesian horse dance to the beat of a tuba and a Mexican band (pictures below).

The best part of the wedding besides seeing my brother and his new bride glowing with joy, was when Hector surprised Arianna with a Friesian Pony (no I’m not jealous). Her expression was priceless!
