If you know me you know I’m not big into New Year Resolutions. They just don’t work for me.

Instead of New Years Resolutions, I like to pick a word for the year. I have been doing this for the last eight years. Now picking a word takes a lot of thought process, reflection in your life and where you want to go as well as getting clarity in your year goals.

My word of the year helps set the intention on how I want my year to flow. What I want to focus on. It helps me be strategic in the actions I take throughout the year.

At the end of last year, I took a much-needed sabbatical from social media. Spending time away from social media has allowed me to evaluate my life. Get some clarity on the things that are important to me, my legacy, what I want to be known for, and how I can make a difference in people’s lives.

My word of the year for 2021 is INTENTIONAL.

In 2021, I want to be INTENTIONAL. I want to be intentional in all of my decision and actions I take this year. I want to be intentional in my walk with God, in my marriage, relationships, in my business, what I consume in social media, the books I read, self-care, what I do for others, achieving personal, financial, and business goals.

This year I want to focus more on the person God created me to be, my purpose in life, my legacy. I want to grow deeper in my faith, do more acts of kindness, and grow financially so I can give abundantly. I want to fulfill my big audacious dreams…and I have a few. I want to be bold, believe in myself, and own who I am in a way I haven’t done before.

That means devoting my day Intentionally to becoming the best version of myself that I can be.
